RE-KINI™ & SEABIN

We love, love, LOVE our oceans - and that’s why we’re committed to keep growing and doing our part to protect them. In 2024, we made two huge steps we’re super proud of: launching our recycled swimwear range, RE-KINI™, and partnering with Seabin to celebrate our transition into recycled fabrications and support cleaner coastlines.

Made for the ocean, kind to our planet.

Meet RE-KINI™

All our collections are made with love and attention to quality, but RE-KINI™ takes it a step further by putting sustainability at the forefront!

Traditional polyester demands a lot from the planet, so we shifted to recycled materials that cut our carbon emissions, conserve resources, and turn waste into something wonderful. This small choice creates a huge ripple effect. Not only are we breathing new life into discarded textiles and keeping them in circulation longer, we’re also saving precious water and energy along the way.

Crafted with love from recycled materials, RE-KINI™ uses 75% less CO₂ in  production. It’s our pledge to embrace eco-consciousness - through incorporating recycled fabrics into our swimwear, we’re committed  to creating beautiful, high-quality pieces with the same Kulani Kinis heart, fit, and soul…just with a cleaner footprint!

RE-KINI™ represents not an end, but a beginning. The hard work isn’t over until every fabric in our range shares the same recycled properties. Already, 95% of our swimwear is made with RE-KINI™ fabrication, and we’re well on our way to closing that gap.

Cleaning Our Oceans from Plastic Pollution

Our partnership with Seabin

We’re proud to support Seabin, an Australian-founded initiative on a  mission to clean up our oceans by collecting litter from shorelines with  their innovative ‘Seabin’ devices.

Our Kulani Kinis Seabin unit in Sydney Harbour works around the clock, filtering over one million liters of water daily and removing around three kg of rubbish and microplastics from the ocean every single day.

In our first year together, the numbers told the story: our Seabin collected 673 kg of waste, 84,000 pieces of other plastics, 53,000 pieces of microplastics, and filtered 470 million liters of water. That’s around 375 pieces of plastic saved from our oceans every day, all of which are recycled into new materials. It’s cute to know your fave brand is just as sweet on the inside as we are on the outside.
